"It's a great game overall, my biggest complaint is how pay to win the game can be, about 75 percent of the items in the shop are bought with money, which makes it so much easier to level up cards instantly. I don't like about paying for mobile games, so I've always been a free to play user. There's been some challenges against pay to win users, but nothing major if you manage to have good level cards"
"Its like a subscription based platform that's optional. each update they come with a new card that's broken and can only be accessible to pay to play characters. I have spent money on this game and stopped with the introduction of evo cards. Now, mainly playing free to play, they have added the new hero cards just emphasizing the situation. All of my books and magic cards are gone and they now have made it significantly harder to max out cards... I now believe I will never catch up."
"Progression is now slower than ever due to recent nerfs. Even if you buy the battle pass ($13), it doesn't provide a meaningful amount of resources. Maxing out a deck now takes either ~1 year of grinding, or $100. I've only given 2 stars because there are still game modes where all cards are set to the same level, which equalizes the playing field."
"New update, not feeling it. I guess whatever money some of us put on the game after 9+ years was a waste of money. Its like the more you update the game the more it has become about paying to advance. Making the game a little harder to catch up. I really enjoyed this game since day one and been loyal to the game since clash of clans. But i guess everything has to move on and adapt to keep up with the competition...It is what it is...just had to come back and give my feedback. Thank you."
"I wrote a 4 star review in 2018. It is 2025 and had to lower my score... I played this game when it came out. Eventually I stepped away from. The game because as I said in my previous review, the game gives advantage to those who sink money into it. The recent update (Dec 2025) demonstrates the logical destruction programmers can have on a game. The trophy road that clearly distinguished the high level (maxed) players was broken. Game is unplayable right now."
